Thursday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29: ETH capstone presentations and final robot adjustments

On Tuesday, May 29 we continued testing our robots in the morning before leaving for ETH (the university Einstein attended) to listen to their mechanical engineering students present their capstone projects.

At this point in the project, most groups were focusing their efforts on course two, particularly on a very tight turn. Seen here are multiple groups testing their line-following algorithms on tracks one and two.

After lunch, we headed to ETH to attend senior capstone presentations.

Overall, the presentations were impressive, showcasing a wide variety of projects. Topics included a drone capable of detecting poachers in Africa, a four-legged robot able to detect and lift packages, ETH's electric FSAE team, a prototype for Switzerland's hyperloop, and more.

On Wednesday, May 29, it was a major workday. Groups worked hard to make adjustments to tackle the final course.

One group is hard at work trying to finish the last course, with Michael supervising.

Another group’s successful run on course three.

All in all, teams made a lot of progress and put themselves in a good position to compete tomorrow evening.
