Thursday, May 23: The end of Frackwoche

Today was our last school day of the week, and groups worked hard to make progress on their robots. The classroom was filled with students coding, modeling, and assembling their robots. Groups have started the assembly process of their custom robots, using the 3D-printed chassis that they designed. We also started to see groups with robots that could successfully follow lines and avoid some obstacles.

Despite being a competition, there was still a lot of collaboration between groups, especially with coding problems. Through collaboration, we were able to work through obstacles in a way that allowed everyone to learn the best methods. Of course, we also received assistance from Maciej, who is a great help with coding and debugging in C++. Our work is far from finished, though, and each group still has many issues to overcome.

Today was also our last day of experiencing Frackwoche, the tailcoat week at Zurich University of Applied Sciences. Outside our window, we could see the festivities. The whole courtyard was filled with food trucks, games, and many students dressed in formal attire. After class, we used tokens to get food and drinks and ate with the Swiss students while enjoying the live music. Some of the foods offered were bratwurst, burgers, and fries.
