This global seminar is about more than just schooling; it’s about immersing ourselves in a culture unlike our own and learning what it’s like to live outside of the U.S. When classes are over, we students often spend time simply walking around the medieval town center of Winterthur, Switzerland, drinking coffee, trying pastries, and going on little adventures.

When classes are over, we students often spend time simply walking around the medieval town center of Winterthur, Switzerland, drinking coffee, trying pastries, and going on little adventures. Nearly every day, we enjoy a group dinner at a restaurant in the medieval center of Winterthur called 'Obergasse'.
Besides Winterthur, students often take short trips to local scenes. Just the other day, a select group of extreme hikers (normal students) and I made our way up a 70-degree incline on slick mud and falling roots, battled a serpent (little garden snake), and finally found some castle tower ruins in the middle of the woods called Alt-Wülflingen. There was a very easy walking path that we never found, taking a 'shortcut' instead. Experiences like these are what make the trip unique and memorable, and I'm sure every student could share their own stories like these.
Today, our host, Professor Michael Wüthrich, the Grill King himself, invited us all to his place for Bratwürste. The food was amazing, and the conversation was extremely engaging. It was really cool to meet his family, enjoy some casual conversation, and see how others live in different parts of the world. Afterwards, Michael's kids showed us how real Europeans play Fußball (soccer), and we got completely crushed.
This experience has been absolutely life-changing and will be one of my most memorable times in college. I'm so glad to be able to share this experience with all of you!
Tschüss!
