Today was our second day of free time in Switzerland. We started the day off by getting waffles and hot chocolate from a nearby cafe.
After breakfast, we headed to the train station and hopped on a train to Luzern. Luzern is a beautiful city that looks like it was pulled straight from the pages of a storybook. The city was full of historic buildings, bridges, and paintings.
After strolling around the city, we headed to the “Wachtturm” (Watchtower). Inside, the mechanisms of the tower’s clock were on full display.
The tower was also connected to a defensive wall, which offered a fantastic view of the city below.
Next we walked through the city, taking in all of the sights as we headed to the Swiss Museum of Transport.
This museum contains exhibits on the various forms of transportation in Switzerland, as well as a planetarium. Afterwards we took the train back to Winterthur, capping off a full day of exploration.
