Today, we got back to work on our robot challenge. It was difficult to transition back after our exciting weekend! Still, we were motivated to continue fine-tuning our robots and complete all the challenges for the courses.
Today, we got back to work on our robot challenge. It was difficult to transition back after our exciting weekend! Still, we were motivated to continue fine-tuning our robots and complete all the challenges for the courses.
We started our morning with croissants and coffee from Mensa as usual, and got to work in Zurich University of Applied Sciences Technikumstrasse. All teams now have their physical robots built, and are focusing on minor changes to make them work better. This includes changes in code, altering the front to better collect ping pong balls on the track, and adjusting sensors. Teams faced issues with their PES boards and in dealing with the code logic of different crossroads and dead ends in the line track.
After a long day of problem solving and already feeling worn out from the prior weekend of mountain hiking, the group returned to the hostel. A few grabbed some snacks from the Coop Supermarket on the way. One of my favorite parts of being here is trying foods we don’t have in the United States. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of paprika chips, which seem to be the most popular flavor here!
A group went to the nearby Skills Park for some trampoline fun. Others chose to stay in for a game night featuring Swiss snacks, including favorites like Tyrrell’s sea salt and cider vinegar chips, and, of course, chocolate.
