Thursday, May 19: Coding robots and a boat ride on Lake Zurich

At the beginning of the day, everybody woke up and had bread for breakfast. We then went to school and learned how to code a robot that could locate and avoid obstacles in a perfect world. They had a little bit of trouble though, because they would get stuck in corners every once in a while. Overall they were a lot of fun to program and very relatable to our final project.

After class and dinner, some people decided to go back to the hostel and chill out for a while while others went to Zurich. Half of the people that went to Zurich ended up going for a boat ride on Lake Zurich. It was very mellow and it stopped raining just in time to make it a pleasant experience. Some pictures can be seen below taken before and after the boat ride. There were beautiful views of the lake, the city, and especially the Alps throughout the ride.

The other half of the Zurich crowd went to eat in the dark restaurant where all of the servers were blind and used to not being able to see while everybody who dined could not see an inch in front of their face because the restaurant had no lighting. The restaurant offered a random three to four course meal where the customer has no idea what is in front of them. The trip was a success as the food was really good and everybody had a good experience.
