Today was a travel day to Geneva. On our way, we stopped at Bern, where we took a little tour of the city and went up the famous clock tower, Zytglogge. Before this, we stopped and saw the bears in time for them to eat.
Afterwards, we were split into two groups, one group first took a tour around Bern while the other went to the top of the clock tower and we then swapped afterwards. On the tour of Bern, we got to see many of the cool buildings in Bern, the highlight being the Bern Cathedral in my opinion. The stained glass inside was remarkable but sadly no photos within were allowed. The design on the entrance was very interesting, however.
After the tour of Bern, we climbed the clock tower and learned some its history, saw an amazing view of the city from the top, and got to see the inner workings of the clock! The most amazing part about this is that this complex machine was designed and made almost 500 years ago!
We then got back on the bus to Geneva. On the way, there were some spectacular views of the mountains, but many of us were so tired from waking up so early to leave so it was a great time to recuperate and gather our energy for our night in Geneva.
The day ended with free time in Geneva after checking into our hostel. Many of us went to dinner and watched the first round of the biggest volleyball tournament in Switzerland, "yuh beachmasters."
