Day 11: Exploring Lucerne

Today was a free day, so many of us decided to visit the city of Lucerne. The city is only a quick train ride away from Winterthur, and was absolutely stunning.
Today was a free day, so many of us decided to visit the city of Lucerne. The city is only a quick train ride away from Winterthur, and was absolutely stunning. Upon entering, we split into two groups. One group went on a bike ride while the other (my group) decided to go to an art museum and hike around the city.

The art museum did not allow pictures, but it contained paintings from Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, and many others. After the art museum we decided to simply walk around and take in the city. Here are a few pictures from ground level.

Intrigued by that white castle on the hill, we decided to hike up to it.

The view from the top was priceless.

After this, we continued walking and found a castle tower closer to the center of the city. We climbed all the way to the top, and here is the view we found.

Lastly, we decided to walk to a beach and relax for a while. Some of us took naps.

Here are a few pictures from the group that chose to ride bikes around the lake.

Overall, it was an incredible experience to see the city of Lucerne, and I hope to return some day!
