Day 5: Visits to a university, robotics lab, and Juliet's balcony in Verona

Today we went on a university site visit to the University of Verona in Verona, Italy. We toured the Altair Robotics Lab in the morning where we saw numerous applications of machine learning technology, with medical and industrial focuses. Students had the opportunity to operate a Da Vinci surgical robot, which surgeons use to make procedures less invasive and dangerous.

Then we were guided on a tour of the main campus of the University of Verona and the city center. We visited Juliet’s balcony, which hosts the famous wall where visitors can write letters to Juliet asking for advice in their love life and leave them on the wall for good fortune in love.

We walked along the beautiful historic shopping streets, and explored many shops and historic sites in the city, where we got gelato from the first gelato shop in Verona.
