Vestas and the Highest Point in Denmark

After a very quick bus ride from our flats we arrived at Vestas, a wind energy production company. We toured a plant where they manufacture the wind turbines. We were able to go step by step through the process and see how the massive production process is carried out. The final turbines weigh , just to give a sense of the incredible size of the turbines! Because of company secrets were weren't able to take any pictures in the plant or talk too much about what we learned.

After the tour, we stopped in Silkeborg for lunch and some exploring time and then continued on to our hike of the day.

We climbed to the highest point in Denmark, which sits at an elevation of 147 m.  Here we are at the top of the "mountain."

  1. The entire country is less than 500 feet above sea level?! Wow, I bet the Danes are a little bit concerned about global warming and rising ocean levels.
