Today we traveled about 3 hours away from the University of Agder to visit the Otrakraft, another hydroelectric power plant. This plant was similar to Statkraft, but Otrakraft produces more power with their 6 generators as opposed to Statkraft's 2 generators.
It was interesting to see the similarities and differences between two plants that both produce power using water. The differences were subtle, but included things like different shaft diameters in the turbines and more magnetic poles to allow for a slower spin speed.
We then made our way back to the campus in Grimstad, with some good views out the bus window.
