Energy Production Methods in Scandinavia

This seminar will study existing and planned energy production methods and energy usage in Iceland, Denmark, and Norway.
Monday, May 15–Monday, June 5, 2017

Seminar Description
Award winning Teaching Professor Paul Imbertson (ECE) has taken a number of student groups to Scandinavia to explore energy production methods, and how culture and beliefs guide our energy policies. The seminar will study existing and planned energy production methods and energy usage in Iceland, Denmark, and Norway. How does energy production and usage patterns link to specific details of location? How do issues of production, usage, and environmental concerns create the current tensions that are driving new energy planning. Site visits will include research universities, wind turbine manufacturers, power plants, wind farms, hydro facilities, solar manufacturers, and geothermal sites.
