The main attraction of the day was Carcassonne. It is a city in France near Montpellier, where we've been staying, and it has a rich history dating back to Medieval Times. Our tour guide told us the legend of Lady Carcas and led us around the fortress. The city is surrounded by two concentric circular walls comprised of 53 towers. As the city passed to different countries and rulers, they added more to the fortress to protect it.
We also went on a short visit to the Polytech Montpellier University, which is the engineering school. We learned about their cheap tuition and different process for obtaining their degrees. They require their students to go abroad, which I think is a great experience.
The rest of the day was spent exploring Montpellier, trying more food, and practicing the handful of French phrases we've learned. One of the most useful phrases may be 'Je suis fatigué,' as we have had some long, exciting days.
