Over the course of two days, we learned about basic fluid mechanics and performed an experiment in a flume to look for turbulent flow vs. laminar flow. We then went out to a stream, where we performed the same measurements in a real-world situation.
So far, it seems like every time we make measurements in the field, it's raining. We're getting used to writing down data points under umbrellas!
