Arrival at Sletvik Field Station

Today was Day 1 at Sletvik Field Station, which is associated with NTNU. Here we will spend the week taking samples, performing experiments, and communing with nature. Half of us took samples from some of the lakes, while the others climbed a mountain.
Day 1 at Sletvik Field Station!

This is a remote station in Agdenes, an area about two hours west of Trondheim and closer to the ocean. Here we will spend the week taking samples, performing experiments, and communing with nature.

Today we split into two groups. Group 1 took samples of a couple of the lakes in the area, which we will analyze later in the lab.

Group 2 climbed a mountain to take measurements from a lake at the top. When I say "mountain," I don't mean a nice, mellow hike. This was a straight up vertical climb over moss-covered boulders and trees.

Everyone had a great time, and the view from the top was unreal.
