Today we attended the 10th Convergence Summit Conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Amman. The opening speech was given by the King of Jordan's cousin, Princess Sumaya. She even mentioned professor Marshak and our class during her speech and we stood up and got welcomed by all the delegates. We then got to go with her into a private room and ask her questions and take a group photo!
After the conference, we had time to do a little touring in Amman and visit the Citadel. There was a gorgeous view of endless houses all around, as well as roman ruins.
We then had a delicious lunch where we had endless pita and dip, and chicken, beef, and lamb.
After lunch, our next stop was the Rubicon Group Holding, which is an animation company that produces movies, tv shows, and animations for future construction projects. We got to see the process of how they build the characters and the meticulous work they have to go through. According to them, it takes two months for one minute of clip. We the got to play with a 3D video game, pictured below.
We then headed back to the hotel to hear Reem Bsaiso Al-Shared talk about her plans for Jordan. We were able to ask her questions and opinions on certain topic that we have learned, such as startup companies in Jordan. It was great to hear an individual with such great aspirations for Jordan, and to hear a woman achieve such high authority.
The group decided that we did not want to have dinner in our hotel, so our bus driver and guide took us to a great falafel place that was really cheap and so delicious! We then went down to the market so we could roam around and get last minute souvenirs and gifts.
