After the long tour of the Forbidden City, we ate lunch with a local family at the hutongs--an old Beijing neighborhood.
Today instead of visiting a university or a research facility we visited a historical site instead. For many Chinese people and if there is one place they need to visit in their lifetime, it is the Forbidden City (or what they call the Palace Museum). They come at least once in their life time to pay their respect to Chairman Mao Zedong--the leader of the Chinese Revolution in 1949.

For lunch, we visited the hutongs and dined with a local family. Since there's 14 of us, we wouldn't fit in one home. So we had to split in to two. One group went with Prof. Sobelman and the other with Adam, our coordinator.

At night, some of us went to get a massage, some thought they haven't haggled enough so they went to the Pearl Market (similar to the Silk Market where people can buy cheap knockoffs), some went to see the Olympic stadiums, and some went to eat some dumplings at a restaurant close to our hotel.

Speaking of sleep, I still haven't fully adjusted to the time difference, I now have 睡觉 (shuìjiào) and maybe dream about the 水饺 (shuǐ jiǎo) I ate earlier. Good night 晚安(wǎnān) to you all!
