Some days off finally...
Hey everyone. We reached Venice Friday evening. Let me tell you, it was a sight rolling into a train station on the right and what seems to be nothing but water on the left. They transported us and our bags via boat to the hotel and we just got a chance to walk around for the rest of the day. Yesterday was an off day so we took it at a leisurely pace. A large group of us went to a glass factory on the island of Murano to see how the famous Venetian glassworks are made and then we all kind of split up to walk around and eat and shop. In the evening eleven of us went to see a local orchestra perform the Four Seasons, Mozart's Divertimiento and Saint-Saens' Danza Macabre which was absolutely stunning as well. Now we are preparing for our first lecture of Venice. We are all now refreshed from our busy schedule and ready for our next two days in Venice.
