Off to Cinque Terre

As we write we are in route to La Sepezia/Cinque Terre on a four hour train ride. Our time in Rome went by very fast and we enjoyed every minute. We have not stopped moving and have managed to explore most of Rome during our time here. We have walked a ton and explored the city at night consuming our precious sleeping hours but we figure "When in Rome" and know that once we are back to Minneapolis we will have plenty of time to catch up on sleep. Yesterday we toured the San Callisto Catacombs and the Roman Aqueducts. The catacombs are ancient burial grounds extending four stories underground and at one point housed the remains of many Romans but have since been moved or removed. On our next stop we got an up close view of the aqueducts which were a means of water transportation in Ancient Rome. The rest of the afternoon was spent in small groups getting in some last minute sites before our departure. In the evening we went to Plaza de Argentina to watch the Champions League Final soccer/futbol game with fellow Italians. As we continue on to our next city we will definitely have more adventures and we hope to post some pictures very soon.
