Monday, May 20 was our first full day in Winterthur and our first day of class at Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). After a long night’s sleep at our new home (Backpack Depot 195), we’re all ready to go off to our first day of school!

Ben, Jason, and Kayla are all smiles as they head off for their first class. They grow up so fast…

Once we arrived at the school, our morning started of with an excellent 8 a.m. breakfast where each student chose from a wide variety of fruit, cheese, and pastries.

This student looks like he’s made some delicious choices for the morning’s breakfast.

After breakfast, we all traveled to room TE432 where we received our first engineering lecture from Professor Michael.

Swiss robotics was a thrilling subject for everyone!

After a long and arduous journey through many countries, Q’s bag finally made the journey back to its owner, and collected many tags along the way.

After a long day of learning, we all went back to Backpackers Depot 195 to decompress and rest for another long day tomorrow. Many of the students chose to watch the much-anticipated "Game of Thrones" finale, even though the only available monitor was a tiny laptop screen.

I hope you all enjoyed this brief update, goodnight from Winterthur!!
