We started our day with a review of some fluid mechanics. We also learned more about some of the aspects that should be included in our designs and some of the questions that we should try to get answered next weekend when we visit the villages. We finished our lesson by learning more about elevation measurements and pacing.
After lunch, we got some custom made Tanzanian clothing!! We first went to a small shop in the market to pick out fabric and then we went to the tailor (who even had a catalogue with many different clothing designs). Some of the requests included hoodies, blazers, pants, skirts, and dresses. We then visited the basket market where we found lots of special gifts to take back home.
Later in the evening, we went over to Ken’s apartment for a social hour where we shared our first impressions of Tanzania and our favorite dishes so far. Last but not least, we were invited to the bishop’s house for dinner. The dinner was SPECTACULAR!!There was a huge spread of food, (mostly, Tanzanian). The bishop and his wife were incredibly welcoming.
