Day 16: Robotic design, testing and designing day:

After exploring Zurich and learning more about senior projects at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) the previous day, we jumped back into augmenting our robotic car design.

Many of the teams are still working on fine tuning their software to go through the new race tracks. Having a good algorithm for the courses was essential as a new practice course was introduced today, the brainwasher. The brainwasher consists of a consortium of special cases to push the software to its limits. The course features segmented, intersecting and intricate curved lines.

While many of the teams were touching up their programs, some other teams were finishing up their final car designs. There were numerous students working hard to create their car models to print on the 3D printer. Although most of these 3D products take anywhere between 3-11 hours, they all turn out wonderfully!

To give our brains a break through an arduous day of creative thinking, we all went downstairs for dinner. A delicious beef stroganoff was crafted up and has been one of my favorite meals in Switzerland.

We completed the night and headed back to the hostel for some snacks and card games. Some of us even taught Professor Mantell how to play Sheepshead!
