DONG Energy and Vikings!

We started our morning off with a tour of DONG Energy, Denmark Oil and Natural Gas and spent the afternoon exploring the Viking museum.

We started our morning off with a tour of DONG Energy, Denmark Oil and Natural Gas. This name is a bit misleading because as of two days ago the company divested all their oil and natural gas production.

Looking forward to the future they are looking to be a completely green company, producing energy and electricity with wood, straw, and coal. The process is considered carbon dioxide neutral because to replace the trees, from which the wood pellet fuel comes from, new trees are planted, which will consume the carbon dioxide produced by the energy and electricity production process. We were able to tour the plant, including the control room.

We spent the afternoon exploring the Viking museum and were able to sail on a replica of a Nordic ship.

It was a pretty great experience to learn about the history of the Vikings and then experience sailing first hand!
