It's been fun, Montpellier

It has been a busy week meeting with city officials and professors, and now we are off to Paris.

Tuesday we were able to learn more about the city of Montpellier and their energy policy and waste management system. In the morning, we met city officials at the city hall building which was built by the same architect who created the Guthrie Theater, very strong similarities. In the afternoon we visit Ametyst, the waste management company contracted through the city of Montpellier.

Wednesday we got a free morning to explore Montpellier, many people took advantage of this time to shop and explore the city center of Montpellier. In the afternoon we visited the U of M study center in Montpellier and were able to talk to Professor M. Chemouni around the recent environment issues. After meeting Professor M. Chemouni, we visited the Polytech Engineering School at the University of Montpellier.

Thursday we visited a nuclear plant in Tricastin, EDF. In the afternoon we spent time in Avignon and visited the Palais des Papes (Popes Palace) and spent our last night in Montpellier.
