We've landed!

After some bonding time in the Los Angeles airport and a LONG flight, we made it to Sydney!
We've arrived safely in Sydney after surviving one of the longest flights in the world.

We left Minneapolis at 2:20 p.m. on Sunday, May 18 and arrived in Sydney on Tuesday, May 20 at 6 a.m. Due to crossing the International Date Line, we actually lost a day in transit. We also were not able to take off from Los Angeles right away because the airport in Sydney did not open until 6 a.m. During our six-hour layover in Los Angles, members of the group were able to get to know each other and bond by playing card games in the terminal.

Other students went to get dinner and explore LAX. We also passed the time on the 14-hour flight by reading our assigned book, "In a Sunburned Country." Reading about Australia added to our anticipation and excitement to land, eager to write stories of our own adventures.
